01 / Services

A model people
can work with.

Useful financial work connects the calculations to the question, then gives people the guidance to use it.

Budgeting & forecasting

Build Excel models that connect revenue, costs, and financial outcomes under documented assumptions.

  • Budget and forecast structures
  • Clearly defined inputs and outputs
  • Reconciliation and model checks

Scenario & decision analysis

Compare a baseline with alternative choices, showing their incremental financial effects and relevant constraints.

  • Bounded what-if scenarios
  • Assumptions and sensitivity
  • Tradeoffs and timing

Explanation & handoff

Make the model understandable through clear visuals, practical documentation, and walkthroughs for the people who will use it.

  • Leadership presentation materials
  • Model guides and operating instructions
  • Staff walkthroughs

02 / Approach

Start with the question.
Keep the reasoning visible.

I work with you to define the decision, make the assumptions explicit, and deliver a model your team can understand and operate.

Leo T Goldberg Independent consultant

  1. Define the decision

Agree on the question, supported choices, deliverables, and boundaries.

  2. Build and check the model

Connect sources and assumptions to calculations; review examples and explain limitations.

  3. Explain and transfer

Present the financial effects and give your team the instructions to use and update the model.

03 / Experience

Experience behind
the practice.

My prior professional work includes building Excel financial models, reconstructing historical calculations, and explaining scenarios to leadership.

Driver-based financial modeling

Built an Excel model connecting staffing and growth assumptions to revenue, expenses, and multiyear financial outcomes.

Financial rules & reconciliation

Translated written financial rules into formulas and reconstructed historical calculations to compare modeled outputs with published figures.

Live scenario discussions

Presented financial scenarios to leadership, explaining assumptions, timing, and tradeoffs as questions arose.

Scenario Studio

Exploring a clearer way to bring financial scenarios to leadership.

A product concept for consultants, finance teams, and Excel analysts: turn an analyst-owned model into a guided experience for comparing scenarios and explaining outcomes.

The intended approach keeps Excel responsible for calculation and the analyst responsible for defining what the information means.

Currently a browser prototype using fictional data. Workbook integration and shared access are planned; the product is not available for client use.
